Stefanie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's degree in Social Work from the State University of New York in Albany. She has over 10 years of experience working with children and families in a variety of settings and with diverse clients including both long-term and brief interventions.
Stefanie has developed a deep passion for supporting children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression and trauma, as well as individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their family members. For clients who are interested, they can utilize creative arts therapy as a nontraditional approach to exploration and growth. Together, they will work to explore emotions, develop coping skills and define attainable goals, so that things seem more manageable.
Stefanie uses a mixture of Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) and Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT) therapy with an emphasis on family-systems. Stefanie’s first priority will always be to provide a safe and nurturing space for reflection, self-actualization and empower individuals to be the agent for change. Her therapy approach builds on those motivators to encourage exploration of the individual within their environment to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges and generalize skills in their everyday world. Skills could look like social development, healthy boundaries, as well as school and employment goals. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
